EMERGENCY PERSONNEL
The Safety Director is in charge of all pre-emergency procedures, and communicating with Emergency Personnel. In the absence of the Safety Director, Management is responsible for taking over his / her duties.
EVACUATION
Evacuation drills are conducted 2 times a year; participation by all employees is mandatory. When an announcement is made, evacuation takes place and employees meet outside the building for a head count. Employees remain evacuated until emergency help arrives or an "All Clear" is announced.
FIRE EXITS
Exit routes from buildings must remain clear and free obstructions and are properly marked with signs designating exits from the building.
FIRE SUPPRESSION
Fire extinguishers have been installed throughout all three buildings and are periodically updated. The Safety Director and County Fire Department personnel maintain the equipment.
Each year, County Fire inspects and recharges the fire extinguishers located throughout both buildings. The County Fire Department performs fire inspections for all buildings each year.
SAFE REFUGE AREAS
When an evacuation announcement is made, all employees must walk to the announced Safe Refuge Area to meet their Department Manager for a head count. Department Managers will then report any missing or injured employees to the Safety Director.
Note: Since all emergencies are different, the Safe Refuge area is never a pre-designated site. |
